Contributing Artist: Richard Lasley
Richard Lasley, a native of Southern California, was encouraged at an early age to become an artist. After attending Ventura College and The Art Center School at Los Angeles for illustration and design, he worked as a freelance artist for many agencies in Los Angeles and New York, and was also a member of the Illustrator’s Club of L.A. Later, he was employed as a production illustrator for many feature movies in Hollywood, working with the likes of Steven Spielberg and other creative notables.
Art is a way of life for Richard Lasley, and his philosophy can best be understood by reading the following quote from his website:
“The most important attribute an artist can possess is a positive attitude about one’s self, one’s talent, and towards others. Commit to being the best you can be. The journey into my world of art continues to broaden my horizon and has left me with an ongoing and everlasting joy and passion.”
Mr. Lasley’s love of the southwest and Native American cultures now inspires him to portray the wisdom, strength, and resilience of many tribes through his paintings and drawings. He and his lovely wife, Dede, reside in Tubac, Arizona.
